| PLANNING
Building a Website is much like building a custom home. A well-defined blueprint, to which all parties agree on, allows the builder to move forward so the final product meets or exceeds expectations.
The strategic "Website Blueprint" brings your Website business concept into focus. Customarily a 1-3 week process, the Blueprint allows you to work with our team of professionals to determine a series of criteria in the development and deployment of your Website. Upon completion of this process, you will have the following deliverables:
Executive Summary/Needs Analysis
This document will describe the overall business case and target audience of the site. It also identifies the unique needs of the audience from a technical or design perspective. Your Web architecture requirements and priorities are defined as a first step in planning the function of the site.
Narrative of Site Functions and Use Cases
In this item the scope of the Web architecture is defined in a description of how the site is used by visitors and how administrators manage Web content and visitor interaction through the Website. Details include a step-by-step description of use cases, how technology will be used to implement the architecture and business priorities.
Site Map
The "Site Map" is a visual representation of the site displaying individual sections and/or pages. The purpose of the site map is to give a visual representation of navigation and site complexity section-by-section and/or page-by-page. The site map is used as a reference for the client and developers in building graphical and technical functions.
User Interface/Creative Brief
This section details the specifications for the creative direction and user interface for the site. The Design Document gives an overview of design and user interface needs. This includes a review of user/client base and suggestions about the type of interface and design that may be most appropriate for the site. Outlined in the document are design needs that may influence the layout of the site, including navigational limitations, content administration, dynamic content and current marketing collateral. Specific needs, such as logo design or scanning, may also be included in this document.
Dataflow Diagram, Database Schematic
The most technical portion of the Site Blueprint provides a visual representation of dataflow present in site usage and site maintenance. This identifies data sources and how users and administrators use and update the data. Any special considerations for data storage and retrieval are defined in this portion of the document. A database schematic is provided to show and define all the elements of the data stored in the system. These elements of the blueprint are crucial to successfully developing and deploying complex Websites. Along with your hard copy Website Blueprint, your Design Consultant will provide information on how to move forward with your project. This can include a detailed proposal from ZWNET Custom Web Development including pricing, payment options and projected delivery dates. Contact your Design Consultant for more information about this service.
DESIGN
Effective graphic design is an essential element of a successful Website. A clear, understandable user interface can guide your viewer through the information on your Website without frustration. Great design is great communication.
Exciting design increases audience interest which compels the audience to action. The ZWNET Custom Web Development team of graphic artists and Website developers use the latest techniques to make the user interface engaging.
Java scripting is used to create simple and advanced button rollover effects and to create simple text in motion. Animated gifs are implemented for simple animation such as seen in banner advertising. Flash animation is employed to create simple or sophisticated animation and to create complex user interactions. 3D modeling is used to enhance animation or create virtual walkthroughs. Music or sound effects can be added to animation or user interfaces to make them more engaging.

PROGRAMMING
Whether you need an E-Commerce, auction or portal site, ZWNET's team of professionals stands ready to develop enhanced and customized functionality for your business Website. Additionally, the ZWNET Custom Web Development unit can install and modify a number of pre-engineered components into your site. Included in this group are:
Banner Manager -
allows the storekeeper to place multiple banners in multiple areas throughout the site. Banners can be assigned weights or percentages at which they are displayed. The number of impressions may be specified by the owner of the site. Reports can be generated to show actual clicks vs. impressions.
Mail Express -
gives clients the ability to collect e-mail addresses from anywhere on their site and add them to a list for bulk emailing. Files may be attached to messages that are sent out.
The Administrator -
this back office administration tool can take any pre-designed, pre-built SQL 92 compliant database (MS SQL or Oracle), and create a fully functional administration "back-office". The back office administration also allows for simple, hassle-free image uploading.
Membership Tracker -
allows clients to keep track of all customers who have signed up for various levels of membership on a site. Membership can be paid or not-paid membership. Can be used to renew accounts that have expired and also can be integrated into Mail Express and the E-Commerce shopping cart.
Web Reminders -
enables customers of a particular site to store reminders for themselves. Customers must be members to access their reminders. Reminders are e-mailed at a specific time before the event.
Link City -
allows clients to display a list of related or recommended sites.
FAQ Master -
this is our alternative to the UNIX chat server. It allows customers to place questions to the owner of the site. The questions are e-mailed to the client and stored in the database. Once the administrator receives the question; they can then update the answer in the back office. Once the question has been answered the answer will show up on the site. This takes away the need for filtering content on chat servers.
Newsletter Archive -
enables clients to keep an archive of important newsletter articles for their customers to view. Articles can be updated at any time. Articles can also be set to expire at a certain time. E-Commence Solution - includes a product display or Sell Sheet. Each product can be added to a cart or the customer can be shown more details on the product. Once products are added to the cart they can be purchased using the CheckThisOut product.
CheckThisOut -
incorporates the Membership Tracker to allow for the storing of multiple billing and shipping addresses. The checkout process is concluded with an authorized trip to the credit card gateway for credit card processing. This technology includes order tracking which enables customers to look up previous or pending orders.
